Not one radio — the right link, or several at once.
SKIDER is link-agnostic. It combines its own radios, LTE, the platform's own link and third-party radios — and switches dynamically to the best one available.
Multi-link, dynamic link switching
Several links at once: 868 MHz for low data rates over longer distances, 2.4/5 GHz for high data rates, LTE where coverage exists. Dynamic link switching — virtually unlimited range wherever LTE coverage exists.
Third-party radios
Integrated radios include Silvus and Doodle Labs. In principle any Ethernet- or serial-based radio can be included.
Platform links
Where the platform already has a data link, SKIDER hands the data over via Ethernet — no separate ground station needed.
Optional encryption
Links can be encrypted on request, with your own server or a direct connection between both ends.
SKIDER Mobile and SKIDER Base
SKIDER Mobile
The unit on the platform: sensor acquisition, GNSS, onboard buffer and multi-link transmission. Own battery or platform power.
SKIDER Base
The ground station on tripod, pole or vehicle, with battery or AC power — or SKIDER Base Software on your laptop.
Accessories such as antennas, cables, batteries and transport cases are available as options.
GNSS — and RTK on request
Multi-constellation GNSS is built in. RTK base/rover mode — SKIDER Base as base, SKIDER Mobile as rover — is available on request.
Ask for RTK base/rover modeNext: satellite links
Where neither radio nor LTE reach, a satellite modem becomes one more link — with SKIDER buffering, switching and preparing the payload data on board.
Data over the drone's own link, no separate payload radio.
